Well...I guess I have more work to do

Several weeks ago while standing in line for food, I mentioned to my sister that I was able to complete a mile in 18 minutes. She scoffed at me and said that isn't running that is walking.

I was offended.

Last week I mentioned my indignation at being scoffed at to my brother who runs. He laughed in a "I'm not going to say anything" sort of way. It was a slightly more polite scoff, but a scoff none the less.

I was offended again.

My sister and my brother, aka "The asthmatics" as they love to point out to me, are able runners. They have worked hard to become so. They have run in 5Ks, relays, etc. Even with a potentially fatal breathing condition they are able to out run me by miles.

It hurts...I must admit.

There was a moment, after the scoffs, that I wanted to just give up. Why even try? In fact, I sort of did give up. Running is hard. At least for me anyway. In fact it is the hardest work out activity that I have ever engaged in.

You wanna know what the worst part was? That 18 minutes was down from 22. I had improved and I was proud of that! I sucked as a runner/jogger by 4 minutes less...

Today it was 17 minutes.

Yay!! Improvement is good!! Sorry, I didn't mean to offend! Don't give up! You can do it.

I'm sorry...
;(
I had not intended to offend. My first run of 15 minutes... around the block... (.75 miles) in $100.00 shoes was just enough to piss me off enough to run harder, and to find better drugs for my limp lungs.
I am on your side and will do whatever it takes to help you out.
I intend to see you at the Butch Cassidy 10K in November. No excusses. :)

Come and run at the oval with Terri and me. We have a membership so we can get one of you in for free. Maybe if I saw you run, I could help you out with form. I'm sure that part of the dificulty you're having is in your form.
Just a thought.

I am planning on doing the butch cassidy, but right now my knee is giving me trouble. Not sure what it is, but it feels weak and sort of swollen all the time, though it doesn't look it. I see the Dr. tomorrow. It is all good...really. It wasn't just you. Another runner I know sort of snorted when I told him how I was doing.

The truth is...I am not a born runner. Gonna take time and work to become one.

It isn't hard at all to start making money online in the hush-hush world of blackhat techniques, Don’t feel silly if you haven’t heard of it before. Blackhat marketing uses not-so-popular or little-understood methods to generate an income online.
